ESD Floor finish may be used on top of existing esd tile to provide a sacrificial scuff resistant finish. The addition of one or two very thin coats of our esd floor finishes to esd tiles slightly raises the insulative properties but not enough to pull the floor out of specification. The trade-off is often worth the reduction in scuff marks and ease of maintenance.
ESD floor finish may also be used to render standard tiles "static dissipative." Best results are obtained by using 4 to 6 coats. In most cases Static dissipative flooring no longer meets the standards of the industry for use as a "primary" ground for technicians (technicians should still wear wrist straps). Typical coverage of our esd floor finish is 1,500 square feet per gallon per coat. Apply thin even coats; give about 2 hours to dry between coats. See application details for further information.
