ElectraLock Interlocking Vinyl ESD Tile
NO Adhesive or Odors! Reusable, Fast and Mission Critical Static Control!
ElectraLock is for use in covering ANY structurally sound hard surface flooring! Saves the cost and disruption of tearing out old flooring or prepping the concrete! Permanent or Temporary (reusable). Seamless Appearance. Matte Finish or High Gloss. Currently have old Asbestos laden Tile? NO problem, cover them and SAVE the cost of asbestos abatement! Lowest Price in the industry for Interlocking Vinyl ESD Tiles!
ElectraLock ESD tiles install easily over the top of any hard surface flooring including concrete, standard tiles and epoxy. The interlocking profile is precision cut to provide a seamless appearance in concert with reliable tile to tile conductivity and locking properties.
ElectraLock features a full surface conductive backing overlaid with a static conductive diamond hard wear resistant top surface. ElectraLock is easy to clean and permanently static conductive. ElectraLock tiles are not designed for use with forklifts but easily support carts, chairs and pallet jacks. If these items are equipped with drag chains or ESD casters they perform flawlessly with ElectraLock's permanent static conductivity. ElectraLock Tiles are easy to ground and even easier to install. They are supplied with a non slip slightly textured matte finish and may be easily coated with ElectraGlaze floor finish and polished to a high shine should the client prefer a diamond like shine and mirror like brilliance.
Note for covering concrete:
If the slab has exhibited vapor emission issues (such as water forming
beneath floor mats or a taped down 18" x 18" plastic sheet per ASTM
D4263) contact United before proceeding.
Receiving, storage and preconditioning:
We ship all tile orders flat (rather than on their sides) Inspect the
shipment and insure the cartons containing the tiles have been received
flat. If the shipment has been damaged in any way take photos and report
the damage to the driver and freight forwarder immediately. Mark the
damage on the bill of lading and contact United SCP's freight department
at 719 676 3928 extension 7001. Store the tiles flat and allow 3 days
for the tiles to acclimate to the room temperature. Note: Said room temperature shall be maintained between 62o and 75o F. before, during and after the installation. Note:
localized heat sources such as space heaters, wave soldering machines
etc. may cause issues with the floor's ability to lay perfectly flat in
the affected area. Contact United SCP with questions at 719 676 3928,
extension 7000.
Installation: Sweep and Vacuum the substrate.
Concrete: Fill the expansion joints and holes in the concrete (for the best finished look) using steps 1 through 3 of this method or fill them with SikaFlex Concrete Fix (available at all Lowes and Home Depot Stores). Be sure to follow the directions for SikaFlex and level it out so it is flat with the concrete. Filling the joints eliminates any potential "telegraphing" (slight sinking of the vinyl) that may occur over an extended period of time.
For all subfloors: Once the subfloor is clean, smooth and as flat as possible install the ground foil. For Electronic manufacturing the Aluminum Foil that comes with your order is normally used. For energetics the copper foil is normally used (see grounding below).
Start your install of the tiles in the center of the room. To locate the center of the room measure the length of adjacent parallel walls (divide the room in two). Mark this point with a pencil and snap a chalk line. Repeat this process on the opposite walls. Place a tile in each of the 4 quadrants (where the lines intersect) align the teeth of the tiles and tap them together using a soft headed dead blow hammer.
Build your structure and roll with a 100 pound vinyl roller if needed. Trim the tiles to the walls and encumbrances using a razor knife. To trim against walls simply measure the distance needed to butt up close to the wall. Using an L Square scribe a line with a razor knife. Bend the tile backwards and it will crack along the line.
This same process (scribe and crack) may be used to remove the teeth (square up the tiles). Hint: Warm the tiles slightly with a heat gun when cutting around tight areas or into the corners of doorways etc. When warm, the tiles will cut easily. This method may be used to trim the final tiles to the wall if easier than scribing and cutting.
