URAS Standard is a full surface textile re-enforced double sided self stick roll flooring adhesive. It is VOC free, free of odors, carcinogens, out-gassing and is totally safe for people. This adhesive is designed to (in most cases) NOT leave a residue on the existing substrate. The adhesive is acrylic based, plasticizer resistant, contains no formaldehydes and has unrestricted waste disposal. URAS Standard has a lower adhesive strength to the old flooring and a high strength adhesion to the new flooring. Installations (i.e. carpet tile over access floors, trenches, or old carpet) are releasable. (See restrictions in detailed installation instructions).
Composition: Textile reinforced, adhesive coated fine unbleached tissue, covered with silicon paper liner overlayment (one side only). Conductive variety manufactured with heavy gauge, grid like conductive unbroken mono-filaments, running full length and width of material. Durability: Retains elasticity indefinitely, will not crack with age. Chemical Resistance: Highly resistant to acid and alkaline surfaces. Very high resistance to all plasticizers. Temperature Resistance: -40o F. to 280o F. Toxicity: NONE, Contains no solvents, chlorides or formaldehyde additives. Thickness: Standard: 4 mill (0.1mm). Conductive: 8 mill, (0.2mm). Availability: Full Size Rolls: 39.4" x 82' 6" (1m x 25m) Sample Size Rolls: 19.5" X 16" Weight: Standard, 20 lbs per roll (including packaging). Installation Overview: Substrate must be dust / oil free and permanently dry. If going over concrete, moisture emission are not to exceed 3.0 lbs per 1000 sq. ft. in 24 hours (via Cal Chloride test method). Simply unroll URAS Standard (adhesive side down) on substrate, smooth in place (broom works great), remove top liner, place new floor on exposed adhesive and roll in place. When using with Broadloom carpeting seam as usual. If required weld vinyl sheets and tiles as usual.
URAS Standard may be installed without a primer only over dry, structurally sound firm, dust and oil-free surfaces, such as concrete, old glue-down carpet, VAT, vinyl composition tile,. homogeneous vinyl sheet or tile, poured epoxy or urethane, old feather finish leveled ceramic tile, metal, stone, or terrazzo. Dry shall be defined as <3.0 lbs/1000 sft per ASTM F 1869; Less that 80% rH per ASTM F 2170 and a pH of 7-9. It may be used over steel or HPL covered access floors. It may be used over wood and parquet, plywood and laminates only if these sub-floors are free of acrylic finishes and are not directly installed over on-grade or below-grade concrete without an air space between the concrete and the wood products (Moisture!!). Dry adhesive may not be used over gypsum patches. Not suitable for outdoor installations. Alternately, the product may be installed over moisture barrier primers that are capable of blocking <7.0 – 16 lb/1000 sft (see Notes on moisture barrier primers in the Technical Data Section) New Flooring: URAS may be used to adhere Titanium Sheet Vinyl, carpet with jute, Action Bac®, SBR foam back, Unibond and carpet tile with glass fiber reinforced vinyl backings or bituminous backings. Unsuitable New Flooring: Dimensionally non-stable flooring products, rubber sheet or tile, vinyl composition tile (dusty back), wood or laminate floors, cork, cocos are not suitable. Certain recycled rubber flooring has limited suitability. Recycled EPDM based rubber is not suitable. Advantages of Installation with URAS Standard: Save the dust, debris, expense of disposal of old flooring and re-prepping of old sub-floors necessitated by tear out. Dry adhesive has no open time. It can be laid directly over old floors. Vinyl may be heat welded immediately. Installations may be subjected to rolling loads and heavy traffic without waiting. Installation Overview (click here for full application instructions): Roll out URAS Standard perpendicular to new flooring. Overlap and double cut seams. For carpet over carpet use United construction tape to re-enforce perimeters and seams beneath the URAS Standard. Unroll new carpet or vinyl, seam seal as per manufacturer's specifications. Roll and put into service.
